Dear Proteome Society members,
June
was an exciting month! The meetings in
San Diego
and
Palo Alto
were both a success. True to our mission, we provided a wide range of seminars
and tutorials as well as networking opportunities for the attendees. Thank-you
to the speakers and poster participants, the volunteers for their time, and
finally, thank-you to the sponsors for their generous donations.
Plans
are moving forward for the Fall series of chapter meetings scheduled for
St. Louis
,
Boston
and
Baltimore
. Although the funding is not in place to support these meetings, I am confident
that we will be able to secure the necessary twelve thousand dollars. Each event
will consist of a full day program highlighting eight oral presentations and if
space permits, up to eight posters. If further funding becomes available,
meetings will be scheduled for
Research Triangle Park
,
N.C.
and
Princeton
,
NJ
.
Where
are the open jobs???? Please send us your open positions for free posting on this
site.
I
am enjoying the speed and efficiency of the automated membership and event
management software provided by 123Signup. Please be sure that we have
your current contact information by updating your profile on the Membership
page. At last count we still had 211 bad email addresses.
Speaking
of membership, July and August are dedicated to a membership drive. I will
be recruiting volunteers in the following geographies to assist me:
Seattle
,
Portland
,
San Francisco
,
Los Angeles
,
San Diego
,
St. Louis
,
Ann Arbor
,
Houston
,
Boston
,
Research
Triangle
Park
,
Atlanta
, “Pharm Country” (NJ) and the greater
Washington
D.C.
area. The drive is conducted by email. Please contact me for details.
Enjoy
the long summer days with your family and friends!
Cheers,
Cara
