Founded in 1997,
the Proteome Society is an early leader in uniting those interested in
the field of Proteomics. Its model is to provide an open forum leading
to collaboration among its members. Sponsored by technology companies,
supported by volunteers and guided by their prestigious Scientific
Advisory Council, the Proteome Society reinforces a basic tenet of
scientific discovery--peer networking. The Society currently has
nearly two thousand members from thirty seven countries and welcomes
new volunteers and members. The Proteome Society operates as a
non-profit
California
corporation. (ID# 20-2297732)
The Proteome Society charges
a nominal fee for membership and meetings.
Our Mission:
- Provide worldwide opportunities for education,
networking, and information exchange between scientists from variety of
disciplines centering around proteomics research in both face to face and a
virtual environment.
- Provide a public forum for panel discussions and
scientific posters, seminars and electronic debates as well as a venue for
expressing opinions through editorials and meeting reviews.
- Serve as a general information resource to all
interested parties concerning proteomic sciences and innovation through
tutorials, a proteomics glossary, career postings, editorials and a discussion
board.
The
Canadian Proteome Society was launched as a sister organization in 2004 and will
operate under the same mission statement.
